In a special meeting with local elders of Bazaar Zakha Khel, officials discussed the transparency of ongoing projects, the area’s future development needs, recommendations, and public requests in detail.
Medical Superintendent Dr. Nasir Ali briefed the officials about the hospital’s facilities, while the deputy commissioner met patients to hear their concerns. Local elders demanded the installation of a solar system to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to the hospital. The Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance) was directed to take steps through the relevant forum in this regard.
Bazaar Zakha Khel Chairman and local government representative Attaullah told the media that the area, being remote from Landi Kotal, had unfortunately seen little work from past representatives. He said the operational status of the hospital was a positive development, as patients previously had to travel to Landi Kotal or Peshawar, and in some cases, patients had died on the way.
Attaullah further said that residents still had to travel to Landi Kotal to obtain identity cards, where heavy rush caused severe inconvenience for women, often making the process take two days. He called on NADRA to establish a centre in the area according to the population size.
He also highlighted the poor condition of roads, shortage of teachers in educational institutions, and lack of other basic facilities as major problems, urging the government to take immediate action.
The DC and police chief were accompanie by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance) Gul Nawaz Afridi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief) Irshad Ali, Additional Assistant Commissioner Landi Kotal Shahabuddin, technical officials from the Communication and Works Department, Public Health Engineering Department, Agriculture Department, and other relevant departments.
Later, the deputy commissioner and police chief inspected various wards of the Type-D Hospital Bazaar Zakha Khel. They reviewed the availability of medicines, services, staff attendance, cleanliness, and facilities in the emergency ward, OPD, laboratory, and other departments.
