The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released the schedule for the delimitation of Village Councils and Neighbourhood Councils in seven districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The final delimitation notification will be issued on 17 October 2026.

According to the ECP, the districts included in the delimitation process are Khyber, Kurram, Mansehra, Malakand, Shangla, Upper Chitral, and Bajaur. The exercise will be carried out in accordance with the Constitution of Pakistan, the Elections Act 2017, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government Act 2013, and the relevant Rules of 2020.

Under the announced schedule, from 22 to 27 July 2026, delimitation committees will be constituted, maps and official records will be provided, administrative arrangements will be completed, and staff training will be conducted.

From 28 July to 28 August 2026, the preliminary delimitation of Village and Neighbourhood Councils and preparation of draft lists will take place. These draft lists will be published for public objections from 29 to 31 August.

The ECP said that from 1 to 18 September 2026, members of the public, prospective candidates, and other stakeholders may submit objections to the proposed delimitations. The Delimitation Authority will decide all objections by 5 October 2026, while the relevant committees will be informed of these decisions by 12 October.

The final notification of the Village and Neighbourhood Council delimitations will be issued on 17 October 2026.

According to the Election Commission, the exercise aims to ensure transparent, fair, and legally compliant electoral boundaries for the upcoming local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
