Two young children were killed and their father sustained minor injuries after the roof of a room collapsed due to heavy rainfall in Bara tehsil of Khyber district.

According to local sources, the incident occurred in Meri Khel Lalma village of the Aka Khel area in Bara. The roof of a room in the house of Ajar Habib, a resident belonging to the Zakha Khel tribe, collapsed during the rain. 

As a result, his two young sons, Usama and Zaid Khan, were trapped under the debris and died on the spot, while their father suffered minor injuries.

The incident comes amid ongoing monsoon rains across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), heavy rains and flash floods since 19 July have claimed 22 lives and injured 23 others across the province, while 37 houses have been partially or completely damaged.

The PDMA reported that the deceased include 9 men, 3 women, and 10 children, while the injured comprise 11 men, 5 women, and 7 children.
