Women staged a protest in Landi Kotal, an area of Khyber District, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, against the closure of a Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) center.
During the protest, they temporarily blocked the Pak–Afghan Highway, disrupting traffic flow.
The protesters staged a sit-in at the Khyber Sheikhwal point on the Pak–Afghan Highway and demanded that the BISP center be immediately restored so that deserving women would not continue to face difficulties.

Due to the protest, long queues of vehicles formed on the highway, while passengers experienced significant inconvenience.
Later, the Additional SHO of **Landi Kotal Police Station, Malik Zainat Afridi, along with local elders, held negotiations with the protesters.
After successful talks, the protesters ended the demonstration and the highway was reopened for traffic.
Police officials and local elders assured the protesters that the necessary device would be reinstalled at the relevant center on Monday, and the BISP center would be formally reactivated for women.
It is worth mentioning that a few months earlier, complaints were received alleging that money was being illegally collected from women at the center, after which the facility was closed.
