A key militant affiliated with a banned organization was killed during a clash with police in the Shah Saleem area of Karak district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to police, the slain militant, identified as Fidaullah, was involved in the recent killing of police constable Saeed Nawaz and was wanted by state security agencies.
District Police Officer (DPO) Karak, Shahbaz Elahi, stated that a district-wide operation had been launched following the martyrdom of constable Saeed Nawaz.
Acting on intelligence, Shah Saleem police were alerted that a militant group led by Sanaullah Jalali and Maulana Nazir was heading towards Abasa Khattak under a coordinated plan.
Police, along with CTD and personnel from other stations, launched a joint operation and encountered the militants near Mina Khel.
Upon spotting the security forces, the terrorists opened indiscriminate fire. Police retaliated, prompting the militants to flee towards nearby hills and forested areas.
A search operation was initiated in the area, during which the body of a militant was recovered and identified as Fidaullah, son of Haleem Khan. Weapons recovered from him included a Kalashnikov rifle, two hand grenades, a bandolier, a magazine, and 50 rounds of ammunition.
Preliminary investigations confirmed that Fidaullah and his group were directly involved in the killing of constable Saeed Nawaz the previous day.
Police sources added that during the operation, militant hideouts were surrounded and destroyed under strict security protocols. All shelters and rooms used by the terrorists were torched and demolished, effectively cutting off their supply lines.
