In a joint intelligence-based operation carried out late at night by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Bannu Region and Bannu Police, three terrorists affiliated with the outlawed Zarar faction of Khawarij were killed.

According to officials, the operation was launched on a sensitive intelligence tip under the supervision of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu, Sajjad Khan, and District Police Officer (DPO) Saleem Abbas Kalachi. 

The terrorists killed were said to be directly involved in multiple attacks on police personnel and law enforcement agencies.

The deceased have been identified as Mudassir alias Mudassari, Turab alias Umar Khattab alias Malang, and Muhammad Hussain alias Muaz, all hailing from different parts of Bannu. 

These individuals were wanted in several high-profile cases, including the targeted killings of police officials Kamran, Nusrat, Sikandar, and ASI Asghar. They were also involved in attacks on Bannu Cantonment, City Police Station, and the Mirakhel area.

Security forces recovered a Kalashnikov rifle with three magazines, a pistol, and a locally-made improvised explosive device (IED) from the terrorists’ possession during the operation.
