A soldier was martyred and 19 others injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) struck a security forces convoy in the Nawey Kaley area of Bajaur.

According to official sources, three of the injured are in critical condition. All the wounded personnel were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving treatment. Following the blast, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a joint search operation.

Local sources said the explosion occurred while the convoy was on a routine patrol.

In a separate incident, unidentified assailants set fire to a joint police–security forces check post in the Yakh Kandao area of Upper Orakzai. Police officials said the check post was located at a highly sensitive site.

The post was unoccupied at the time of the attack, preventing any casualties. The attackers fled the scene after setting the structure ablaze.
