At least six people lost their lives and a child was injured in separate incidents triggered by heavy rainfall and lightning strikes across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past 24 hours, according to a report released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The fatalities include one man, one woman, and four children. The report further stated that flash floods and heavy downpours caused partial damage to at least three houses in the districts of Khyber, Malakand, Kohat, and Bajaur.
The PDMA has directed the district administrations to immediately provide relief to the affected families and ensure the injured receive the best possible medical care.

According to a PDMA spokesperson, the current spell of rain is expected to continue until July 17. All district administrations have already been instructed to remain on high alert and take precautionary measures in advance.
The PDMA has also urged the public to stay away from streams, flood-prone areas, and dangerous locations, and to report any emergency by calling the helpline 1700.
