Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, while speaking about relations with the establishment, said that he is ready to engage in dialogue with the establishment on provincial matters and will meet the Field Marshal Army Chief at every ceremony or meeting.

He clarified that his meeting with the PTI founder has not yet been arranged, and the task of maintaining contacts with the establishment has been formally assigned to Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas.

During an informal interaction with journalists, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi presented a clear stance on the development of merged districts, public interests, eradication of corruption, and relations with the establishment.

He stated that out of the Rs 1,000 billion development package allocated for the merged districts, the federal government’s share of Rs 700 billion has still not been released. This amount will be spent in phases in the merged districts to ensure peace and help eliminate militancy.

Emphasizing transparency, merit, and a zero-tolerance policy, the Chief Minister said that opposition attempts to blame the public for the deprivation of merged districts will fail.

Regarding the release of the PTI founder, he said that conditions and the overall environment need to be favorable, and PTI leadership must firmly step forward to mobilize public support.

Explaining his visits to Lahore and Karachi, he said the purpose was to raise public awareness and mobilize support for the release of the PTI founder.

He added that during the Lahore visit, some individuals used inappropriate language, which led to a reaction. However, the Chief Minister apologized for it and said the matter has been resolved.

The Chief Minister also mentioned efforts to resolve issues related to net hydel profit and other outstanding federal dues, stating that the possibility of bringing PESCO under provincial control is under consideration.

He said that vehicles and offices have been taken back from former ministers and members, and a report regarding the Peshawar–Dera Motorway has been sought within ten days.

He also announced that his government will present its 100-day performance before the public and hold a protest on February 8.

The Chief Minister stressed that the provincial government will continue taking concrete steps for public welfare and the development of merged districts, and is prepared to strengthen relations with all stakeholders, including the establishment.
