Police Constable Muhammad Atif was killed after unknown armed men opened fire in the Char Priza area within the jurisdiction of Mathra Police Station, Peshawar. The attackers fled the scene following the shooting. Police have registered a case and launched a search for the suspects.
Constable Muhammad Atif’s funeral prayer was held today with full official honours at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines. The ceremony was attended by Chief City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmad, SSP Operations Masood Ahmad, SSP Coordination Khalid Khan, SP Headquarters Ali Gohar, divisional SPs, SDPOs, other police officers, Pakistan Army officers and members of the martyr’s family.
A disciplined police contingent presented a salute to the fallen constable while officers laid flowers on his grave. CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmad offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and vowed that Muhammad Atif’s blood would not be shed in vain, saying those responsible would be brought to justice soon.
