An incident involving the exhumation of the bodies of deceased girls from graves and alleged sexual abuse has been reported in Peshawar’s Badahbair   Sheikhan area. Police have arrested a 19-year-old suspect during his alleged fifth such incident.

SP Saddar Fida Hussain told a press conference that the arrested suspect has been identified as Salman, son of Afghan. He is an Afghan national currently residing in Bara Qadeem. According to police, the suspect had allegedly exhumed the bodies of four deceased girls from their graves and sexually abused them.

According to SP Saddar, the suspect would exhume the bodies of girls from their graves, clean them, dress them in clothes and then sexually abuse them. During the alleged fifth incident, the cemetery watchman caught him, after which police arrested him with the help of local residents.

Fida Hussain said police were informed about the suspect in the morning. He had allegedly been involved in exhuming the bodies of children from graves for some time, while police have also obtained details of the locations where he allegedly carried out the incidents.

According to police, the suspect is 19 years old and has studied up to Grade 12. Further investigation is underway.
