Talks between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban in Istanbul ended without success after four days of discussions.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar announced on social media that no workable solution could be reached during the negotiations.
He said Pakistan had demanded that Afghan soil not be used by terrorist groups targeting Pakistan, but despite the evidence presented, the Taliban refused to provide any guarantees to stop cross-border terrorism.
Tarar added that the Afghan delegation repeatedly diverted from the main issue and avoided key points, while Pakistan’s evidence was sufficient and irrefutable. He said the only agenda of the talks was to end attacks on Pakistan from Afghan territory.
The minister accused the Taliban of pushing the Afghan people toward unnecessary conflict, saying their representatives relied on accusations, delays, and excuses during the dialogue.

He made it clear that Pakistan would continue operations to eliminate terrorists and their facilitators, ensuring all necessary measures to protect its citizens from terrorism.
Tarar also thanked Qatar and Türkiye for facilitating the dialogue and for their efforts to persuade the Taliban regime not to use the peace process as leverage against Pakistan.
Sources said the talks failed as the Taliban delegation kept changing its stance following directions from Kabul, with those inconsistent instructions leading to the deadlock.
Pakistan has maintained a single demand, that cross-border terrorism be stopped, and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has already stated that if the issue cannot be resolved through dialogue, Pakistan may be left with no choice but open conflict.
