Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, expressed serious concern over the presence of terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory.

Addressing a meeting of the UN Security Council, the Pakistani envoy said that Afghan soil was being used for terrorism.

 He stated that 80 innocent Pakistanis had been killed in recent terrorist incidents and that Afghan territory had been used to plan those attacks.

Asim Iftikhar called on the Taliban to ensure that Afghan soil is not used against Pakistan or any other country.

 He also voiced concern over the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and the violation of women’s rights there.
