The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to launch development projects worth a total of PKR 6.293 billion for production districts, funded by revenue from oil, gas, hydropower, and tobacco production. These projects will include both small local schemes and large-scale development projects.

According to documents from the Department of Planning and Development, these projects will be initiated in Hangu, Kohat, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Haripur, and Sawabi. 

The largest project is the Karak Area Development Project, with a total cost of PKR 1.80587 billion, of which PKR 107.46 million has been allocated for this year.

A package of PKR 844.62 million has been allocated for Hangu, while development projects in Kohat amount to PKR 262.14 million. For Lakki Marwat, PKR 83.28 million has been set aside.

To monitor projects funded by oil and gas revenue, a Project Management Unit and three District Management Units will be established, with a total allocation of PKR 18 million.

From hydropower profits, development projects worth PKR 966 million have been allocated for Haripur and PKR 404 million for Sawabi. For other hydropower-producing districts, a total package of PKR 728 million has been proposed.

Furthermore, for development schemes in tobacco-producing areas, PKR 4.535 billion has been planned, with PKR 30 million proposed to be spent during this financial year.
