A young man was killed and another injured in an alleged firing incident by police personnel at a checkpoint in Darwazgai area of Nizam Pur police station on the previous day. The police have taken immediate action and registered a case against the involved officials.

According to the police, in the report filed by Hafeez, son of Muhammad Nadeem, it was stated that he was traveling in a vehicle with his companions when ASI Yaqoob Khan, Moharrar Alam Sher, and Constable Basharat—posted at Sabirabad checkpoint—allegedly opened fire using official weapons. As a result, Ubaidullah died on the spot while the complainant was injured.

Taking notice of the incident, District Police Officer Ahmad Shah ordered the registration of FIR No. 245 under sections 302, 324, 427, and 34, and directed a transparent investigation. On his instructions, an investigation team was formed under the supervision of SP Investigation Shah Asad Khan.

The investigation team has taken the nominated personnel into custody, and the official weapons used in the incident have also been seized and sent for forensic examination.

DPO Ahmad Shah stated that the law is equal for everyone and no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands. He assured that all aspects of the incident will be thoroughly investigated and those responsible will be punished according to the law.
