According to the Meteorological Department, a new system of western winds is expected to enter the country from today, due to which intermittent rain may occur in different cities over the next few days.
The Meteorological Department has forecast rain in 23 districts of Balochistan from today until December 31. Rain is expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Qalat, Chaman, Pishin and Qila Abdullah. In addition, there is also a possibility of rain in Qila Saifullah, Noshki, Harnai, Zhob, Barkhan, Sibi, Loralai and Musa Khel.
According to the department, rain may also occur in Kech, Gwadar, Lasbela, Awaran, Chagai, Panjgur, Khuzdar, Washuk and Kharan. Under this western weather system, snowfall is expected in northern areas.
Meanwhile, from December 30 to January 1, intermittent rain accompanied by strong winds is likely in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Swabi and Kohat, while moderate to heavy snowfall is also expected in upper areas.
Similarly, from December 30 to January 2, rain and snowfall may occur in the Gilgit-Baltistan regions of Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit and Shigar. Intermittent rain and moderate snowfall have also been forecast for Kashmir.
