Another corruption scandal has surfaced in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department, where staff members who have been absent from a government hospital for a long time continued to receive salaries regularly.

According to official documents, eight doctors and one charge nurse at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Shabqadar have remained absent from duty for an extended period, yet they were continuously paid from the public treasury.

Sources reveal that three of the doctors posted at the hospital are allegedly residing abroad, while one doctor has been continuously absent since 2023 but kept receiving his salary.

Similarly, a charge nurse has not reported for duty for the past two years, yet her salary continued to be issued regularly.

The documents further disclose that despite being transferred, the salary of one doctor was still being paid by THQ Hospital Shabqadar.

After the issue came to light, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has directed that the salaries of all absent employees be stopped immediately.
