Two separate incidents occurred late at night in two districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where militants targeted an important connecting bridge in North Waziristan and a gas pipeline in Lakki Marwat using explosives.
According to police sources, the connecting bridge built over the Kurram River in the Shewah tehsil of North Waziristan was destroyed with explosive material, resulting in its complete collapse. Due to the destruction of the bridge, land connectivity between Mir Ali, Miranshah, Thall, and other adjoining areas has been severed, causing severe difficulties for the local population.
Meanwhile, in Lakki Marwat, militants damaged a gas pipeline in the limits of Dadiwala Police Station near the Indus Highway by detonating explosives. Following the incident, gas leakage continues in the area, creating serious safety concerns.
Police have taken immediate control of both locations and have launched further investigations into the incidents.
