Member of the National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat has announced that he will challenge the selection of Sohail Afridi as Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in court.

He said the situation of governance in the province is deteriorating, with multiple issues, including problems in the health sector. According to him, matters such as the sale and purchase of low-cost medicines in hospitals are also emerging.

He added that when he initially decided to challenge the selection in court, Ali Amin Gandapur advised him against it, but he has now rejected that advice and will approach the court.

Marwat stated that, in his view, the decision to appoint Sohail Afridi as Chief Minister was wrong, which has increased internal differences within the party and weakened it.

He further said that the party has suffered due to Afridi’s decisions and suggested that to strengthen the party, both Sohail Afridi and Salman Akram Raja should be sidelined, while Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Ali Amin Gandapur should be given more authority to improve the party’s situation.

He also said that he was told to sideline Imran Khan, but he has never abandoned him and continues to stand by him. He claimed that he himself was sidelined despite being offered ministerial positions, which he refused, saying he would not compromise his principles.

Marwat added that under the current leadership, the release of Imran Khan is not possible, as they are not taking the necessary steps for his release.
