Three people were killed and seven others injured when a mortar shell landed in the Indrah Akakhel area of Khyber.

According to local sources, the incident occurred when residents were returning home in a vehicle after buying items for iftar from the market. A mortar shell suddenly struck their vehicle.

Police sources said the deceased have been identified as Mumtaz Afridi, Montazir Afridi, and Khawaja Amin, all belonging to the Akakhel tribe.

 The injured are being shifted to hospitals in Peshawar for medical treatment. An investigation is under way to determine the cause of the incident.
