A fire erupted after an explosion in the main gas transmission line in the mountains of Serekhwa area of Karak district in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, injuring three people.

According to DPO Imran Khan, a survey blader machine of Mari Petroleum Company hit the gas pipeline during work, causing the pipeline to rupture and immediately catch fire.

The DPO said that three people were injured in the incident and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police said the fire was brought under control after a rescue operation, while further investigations into the incident are underway.

DPO Imran Khan added that initial investigations suggest the incident was accidental.
