In Khyber, journalists from Bara Press Club and leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) conducted an important visit to Bara Jail, during which they reviewed in detail the issues faced by the inmates.
Prisoners leveled serious allegations against Bara police, accusing them of arresting innocent people and filing false cases.
They also claimed that police officers avoid appearing in court as witnesses, causing delays in many cases and creating difficulties in delivering justice to those in custody.

The delegation expressed concern over the increasing case load in Bara Court, noting that a single judge is insufficient to handle the burden. In this context, the delegation urged the Chief Minister to appoint two more judges in Bara so that cases could be resolved in a timely manner.
During the visit, discussions were also held on the overall situation in the jail. Prisoners demanded the expansion of Bara Sub Jail due to overcrowding. However, the staff’s performance was praised, noting that despite limited resources, they are diligently performing their duties.
On this occasion, social figure Captain Tahir Afridi was commended for donating medicines worth millions of rupees for sick prisoners, which was described as a positive development.
PTI spokesperson Mohibullah Afridi assured that the issues in the jail would be conveyed to the Chief Minister and all possible steps would be taken to resolve them.
The delegation concluded by demanding the immediate release of prisoners held in minor cases and called for a more effective justice delivery system.
