Irregularities and alleged violations of rules have surfaced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Excise Department, where 160 case property vehicles have been found missing from the Peshawar Excise police station.

During the inspection, only 6 vehicles were found present at the station, while information about the remaining vehicles is being gathered.

According to sources, these vehicles were allegedly given by some officials to their relatives, friends, and influential individuals for use. Sources say that records of these vehicles exist in official registers, and details of those who took them are also starting to emerge.

Sources further revealed that more information regarding the use of some vehicles has come to light, on the basis of which the investigation is being expanded.

Following the incident, senior authorities have directed that all missing vehicles be returned to the police station within 24 hours so that their current condition and legal status can be reviewed. In this regard, a formal warning has also been issued to the Peshawar Excise police station.

According to departmental sources, the investigation is ongoing, and once the report is completed, legal and departmental action may be taken against those found responsible.
