PTI Founder Imran Khan’s Eye Examination and Treatment Confirmed

According to Dr. Imran Sikandar, Executive Director of PIMS Hospital, Imran Khan had recently complained of decreased vision in his right eye.

Dr. Sikandar stated that following this complaint, a senior PIMS doctor examined Imran Khan’s eyes at Adiala Jail. During the examination, essential tests were conducted on his right eye, including funduscopy, intraocular pressure measurement, and OCT of the retina.

After the tests, Imran Khan was diagnosed with central retinal vein occlusion, and the senior doctor recommended hospitalization for further treatment.

According to the doctor, Imran Khan was brought to PIMS Hospital late Saturday night for the prescribed treatment. Before the procedure, he was fully informed about the condition and treatment, and written consent was obtained.

Dr. Sikandar said that the treatment was carried out in an operating theater under sterile conditions with full monitoring and was successfully completed in about 20 minutes. The patient’s vital signs remained stable throughout the procedure.

The doctor added that the vision impairment was caused by pressure in the blood vessels of the right eye. After the treatment, Imran Khan was discharged with instructions, follow-up advice, and medical documents.

It is noted that following the ophthalmologists’ recommendation, Imran Khan was taken to PIMS Hospital, examined, and then returned to jail.

Later, Information Minister Atta Tarar confirmed that Imran Khan is completely fine and healthy.

Meanwhile, PTI has expressed concern over Imran Khan’s hospital transfer. Yesterday, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said that the PTI founder is being denied basic human rights and was secretly transferred from Adiala Jail to PIMS Hospital on Saturday evening for eye surgery.
