The house of Syed Tajammul Hussain, the prime suspect in the killing of six people in Kurram district, was blown up with explosives in a joint action by local tribes, security forces, and community elders.
According to police, the action followed the deadly attack a day earlier in Lower Kurram, where six people were shot dead when gunmen opened fire on a vehicle. Soon after, Tajammul released a video statement on social media, admitting responsibility and claiming he acted to avenge his brother’s murder.
Community elders, speaking to the media, praised the swift and coordinated response of tribes and forces, terming it a vital step in maintaining peace in the region.
Police said the suspect confessed that his brother, Muhammad Naqi, had been killed in Peshawar on 30 January 2025 over a business dispute. He claimed he had intended to capture the culprits alive, but resistance led to the exchange of fire that left six people dead.
