A high-level jirga of the Afridi tribe was held at Bagh-e-Naran regarding the dignified return and rehabilitation of the displaced people of Tirah Valley in the tribal district of Khyber, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The gathering was attended by members of the 24-member committee, along with a large number of political, social, and tribal elders.
The jirga held detailed discussions on the return, resettlement, and challenges faced by the displaced people of Tirah Valley. According to the declaration, nine representatives each will be selected from six Afridi sub-tribes: Malik Din Khel, Kamar Khel, Shalobar, Zakhakhel, Adam Khel, and Bar Qambar Khel.
A joint delegation comprising these selected representatives, along with members of the 24-member committee, will be formed to make the negotiation process more effective and comprehensive.

According to the decision, this delegation will meet the commander of the 27 Brigade next week to discuss in detail the dignified return of the displaced persons, the timeline for resettlement, the security situation, and the practical framework.
Participants of the jirga expressed their commitment to continue joint efforts for resolving the issues of the affected people and establishing sustainable peace in the region.
It was also agreed that if satisfactory progress is made in negotiations, the process will be taken forward; otherwise, a joint and comprehensive future strategy will be devised.
