The repatriation of Afghan nationals from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continued on Tuesday, with fresh figures showing that 1,145 individuals were sent back to Afghanistan through the Torkham border.

According to the Home Department, those repatriated today included 543 Proof of Registration (PoR) cardholders, 114 Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders, and 488 undocumented Afghan nationals.

Officials said that, so far, a total of 176,132 PoR cardholders, 62,747 ACC holders, and 666,542 undocumented Afghan citizens have returned to Afghanistan via the Torkham crossing.

Through the Angoor Adda border, authorities reported that 1,241 PoR cardholders, 496 ACC holders, and 8,447 undocumented individuals have also been repatriated.

The transfer of Afghan nationals from other provinces to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for onward repatriation is also ongoing. On Friday, 8 PoR cardholders, 3 ACC holders, and 8 undocumented individuals were shifted from Punjab to KP. Cumulatively, 4,313 PoR cardholders, 10,384 ACC holders, and 37,023 undocumented Afghan nationals have been transferred from other provinces so far.

At transit points, enforcement actions continue, with 50 undocumented individuals deported on Friday, bringing the total number of deportees from transit centres to 7,431.
