In two separate incidents reported from different areas of Nowshera District, four people were killed while one young man was critically injured.

The first incident occurred in Jabi, an area of Nizampur. According to eyewitnesses, Muhammad Tufail, a watchman at Government Girls Primary School Jabi, was unloading goods from a rickshaw loader in front of his shop when a car driver, Zafran Khan, asked for passage.

An argument broke out between Muhammad Tufail and Zafran Khan. Eyewitnesses said that Zafran Khan pulled out a pistol and opened fire, killing Muhammad Tufail and his son Fahad Kamal on the spot.

After the incident, Muhammad Tufail’s second son, Zahid Kamal, brought a weapon from home and opened fire at Zafran Khan, killing him as well. During the exchange of gunfire, Zahid Kamal himself was critically injured. He was initially shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Nowshera and later referred to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar due to his critical condition.

Police said that post-mortems of all three deceased were completed and the bodies were handed over to the families. A case has been registered at Nizampur Police Station, and further investigation is underway.

The second incident took place in Misri Banda Jalarona, another area of Nowshera, where 24-year-old Syed Asad Ali Shah, who had contracted a love marriage, was killed.

According to police, the victim had entered into a court marriage six years ago and later moved to Punjab. He was called back to the village for a reconciliation through a jirga, where he was allegedly shot dead by the woman’s brothers.

The victim’s body was shifted to Qazi Hussain Ahmed Medical Complex Nowshera for post-mortem examination. After the procedure, a case was registered at Misri Banda Police Station. Police said the suspects fled the scene and a manhunt is underway.
