Fresh details have emerged about the five target killers who were killed in a police encounter late last night in the Daudzai area of Peshawar, with police confirming that the gang was actively planning an attack on law enforcement personnel.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar, Mian Saeed, said the suspects belonged to an organised target killing gang and had already martyred two police officials in earlier attacks. He identified the gang leader as Najmal Hassan, who had previously released a video statement confessing to the killing of a police constable.
According to police, the gang was involved in at least 30 criminal incidents across multiple districts, including Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda and Darra Adam Khel. The suspects were responsible for the murder of 12 people in Peshawar and 17 in Nowshera.

Mian Saeed also revealed that the gang had opened fire on a transgender person, leaving them injured. Police said the slain suspects were wanted in several serious criminal cases, and further legal formalities related to the encounter are being completed.
