A quarterly report on terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been released, according to which a total of 475 terrorism-related cases were registered across the province during the first three months of the current year.
According to the Central Police Office (CPO), 161 firing incidents were reported during this period, while 70 drone attacks were also recorded.
The report states that 54 explosions involving explosive materials and 27 hand grenade attacks occurred over the three months. Similarly, 28 extortion cases and 9 kidnapping incidents were also reported.

According to the CPO, 32 incidents of target killing took place in the first three months of the year, while 3 suicide attacks were also reported.
Additional data shows that more than 92 incidents of terrorism were reported in Bannu, 88 in North Waziristan, 65 in Dera Ismail Khan, and 44 in Peshawar.
The CPO stated that to counter the rising threats of terrorism, the police have been equipped with modern weapons and advanced technology to further strengthen security measures.
