The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has suspended an officer deployed at the Torkham border after a video surfaced on social media showing him allegedly neglecting his official duties and recording passengers during duty hours.

According to FIA, Director General (DG) FIA took immediate notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the FIA Director of Peshawar Zone.

The officer, identified as Ehtisham-ul-Haq, has been suspended, and an inquiry into the matter has been initiated. The viral video reportedly shows the constable recording passengers at the FIA Immigration Check Post at Torkham.

The FIA spokesperson stated that the agency is committed to ensuring courteous, lawful, and professional conduct with all citizens. Providing dignified and high-standard immigration services remains a top priority, the statement added.

The spokesperson further warned that any misuse of authority or misconduct by officials will not be tolerated, and strict action will be taken against those violating the rules and regulations.
