Afghan refugees opting for voluntary repatriation will be provided all necessary facilities in line with the guidelines issued by the district administration, as well as the provincial and federal governments, officials said. 

These facilities include transportation, medical camps and biometric verification through NADRA mobile vans to ensure a smooth and orderly return process.

A delegation of Afghan refugee elders met with the Deputy Commissioner Nowshera to discuss matters related to voluntary repatriation and mutual cooperation. 

During the meeting, various aspects of the return process were reviewed, and the concerns raised by the refugee representatives were addressed.

The Afghan refugees’ delegation assured the district administration of their full cooperation in the voluntary return process.

Officials said that misunderstandings and reservations expressed by the refugees were resolved during the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that the provincial government, in accordance with the national policy, is taking all necessary steps to facilitate the voluntary repatriation of Afghan refugees. 

He emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring dignity, safety and basic facilities for refugees during their return.

He further said that the refugee status of Afghan nationals residing in camps has now ended. Therefore, Afghan refugees living in camps and residential areas were urged to cooperate with the authorities in the voluntary repatriation process and return to their homeland at the earliest.
