The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the schedule for the Senate by-election on a general seat from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which fell vacant following the disqualification of former Senator Syed Shibli Faraz.

According to the ECP, candidates can submit their nomination papers on October 8 and 9, while the initial list of candidates will be published on October 10. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed by October 13.

Appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers can be filed with the Appellate Tribunal by October 15, and decisions on these appeals will be made by October 17. 

The revised list of candidates will be released on October 18, and candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nomination papers until October 20.

The by-election for the vacant Senate seat from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be held on October 30, 2025.
