In Peshawar, the “Ehsaas Rehri Ban Rozgar Tahaffuz Bill 2025” has been introduced in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly with the aim of providing legal protection and welfare facilities to street vendors across the province.
According to the proposed bill, street vendors throughout the province will be formally registered, and no action can be taken against registered vendors without prior notice.
The bill also includes proposals for establishing safe vending zones and providing microfinance and insurance facilities for vendors.

Under the proposed law, a “Street Vending Certificate” will be issued to vendors as a guarantee of legal protection, while representation of street vendors in tehsil vending committees has also been made mandatory.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has referred the bill to the relevant standing committee for further consideration.
