On the special directives of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Commissioner Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mehsud, visited the Afghan refugees’ holding center established in Landi Kotal, Khyber district. 

During the visit, he met with Afghan refugees returning to their country, listened to their concerns, and issued on-the-spot orders for their resolution.

Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner said that ensuring dignity, comfort, and ease for Afghan brothers during difficult times is the government’s top priority, and further steps are being taken to make the arrangements more effective.

He also reviewed the facilities provided at the holding center in detail and directed the relevant authorities to ensure immediate and sustainable solutions to the problems faced by the refugees.

It is worth mentioning that a few days ago, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, also visited the Afghan holding camp in Landi Kotal and reviewed the arrangements. 

On that occasion, he directed that the number of NADRA counters be increased from 20 to 40 to speed up the data entry process and reduce waiting time and inconvenience for Afghan refugees.

Afghan refugees have been our guests, and they are being repatriated in a dignified manner. For this purpose, the provincial government, in collaboration with PDMA, has made all necessary arrangements and provided essential facilities.
