The dengue fever situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Nowshera district has worsened after a young customs employee, Haroon Khan, succumbed to the virus in the Jalozai area of Tehsil Pabbi.
According to hospital sources, hundreds of people across Nowshera’s three tehsils have been infected with dengue in recent weeks, triggering growing concern among residents.
Former provincial assembly candidate from Nowshera, Mufti Hakim Ali Haqqani, expressed serious concern over the escalating outbreak, criticizing the authorities for failing to launch an organized anti-dengue campaign.

He alleged that the silence of the health department, tehsil municipal administrations, and district administration amounted to “anti-people behavior.”
Residents also voiced alarm, urging the government to immediately initiate fumigation and cleanliness drives to prevent further loss of precious lives.
