An incident involving the disappearance of government equipment worth hundreds of thousands of rupees has come to light at Government Commerce College Miranshah in North Waziristan, after which the district administration has taken notice of the matter.
On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner North Waziristan, Yousaf Karim Kundi, the monitoring process of educational institutions is being made more effective. In this regard, Tehsildar Miranshah Ghani Wazir paid a surprise visit to the college, where important revelations emerged during the inspection.
It was discovered during the visit that all the hard disks from the computers in the newly established computer lab of the college were missing. The value of these items is said to be in the hundreds of thousands of rupees.
Notably, neither any doors or windows were damaged nor were any locks broken, giving the impression that the incident was carried out in a well-planned manner.

According to the Tehsildar, an explanation was sought from the college principal regarding the incident; however, he failed to provide any clear response.
This situation has raised further questions about how such valuable government equipment went missing in this manner.
A complete report of the incident has been sent to the Deputy Commissioner North Waziristan and the Assistant Commissioner Miranshah.
The district administration says that an investigation is underway, and if negligence or involvement of any government official or responsible individual is proven, legal action will be taken against them.
Teachers, students, and members of the public in the area have demanded improved monitoring and security arrangements in government educational institutions to prevent such incidents in the future.
The administration has made it clear that no negligence in the protection of government resources will be tolerated.
