Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Monday praised the Federal Constabulary (FC) for their swift and courageous response during the attack near the FC Headquarters in Peshawar, saying their action prevented what could have been a major disaster. He stressed that the incident highlights the ongoing security challenges faced by the provincial capital.

Talking to media at Lady Reading Hospital, CM Afridi said the timely and brave reaction of FC personnel saved countless lives. He paid tribute to the force, emphasizing that their professionalism and courage deserve the highest recognition.

He added that it is deeply concerning that the attack occurred in the Red Zone but reassured the public that effective counterterrorism measures are being implemented.

Afridi said he had received a detailed briefing on the security situation and that new steps were being introduced to strengthen the capabilities of law-enforcement agencies across the province.

KP's Information Adviser said the government is equipping the police with modern facilities to ensure they can play a stronger and more effective role in counterterrorism operations. Special attention is also being given to increasing the operational capacity of the police to respond efficiently to emerging security threats.
