A suicide attack was carried out at the Dajal check post in Bhakkar district of Punjab at the time of Iftar, resulting in the martyrdom of two police personnel and leaving one injured.

According to DPO Shehzad Rafiq Awan, the attack took place at a check post established on the river bridge connecting Punjab with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The personnel were performing their routine duties when the blast occurred.

Police officials stated that Constables Faheem and Shehbaz were martyred in the attack, while the injured officer, Arshad, was immediately shifted to DHQ Hospital where he is receiving medical treatment.

Deputy Commissioner Ehsan Ali said that an emergency has been declared at DHQ Hospital following the incident, and security agencies have launched an investigation into the attack.

The Inspector General of Punjab paid tribute to the martyred personnel and expressed condolences to their families. He also directed that the injured officer be provided with the best possible medical care, adding that Punjab Police remains steadfast in the fight against terrorism.
