In Bannu, police killed a wanted suspect, Adnan son of Inayatullah, during an alleged encounter in connection with the killing of five people.

According to police, the suspect was hiding in a forested area and opened fire to avoid arrest, prompting a retaliatory response from the police.

District Police Officer (DPO) Bannu, Yasir Afridi, received information that the wanted suspect, Adnan, resident of Jaman Road Khushni Khel, was hiding in the forest.

 After verification of the information, a police team led by the DPO, including the SDPO City and SHO City, carried out an operation.

Police said that during the attempt to arrest him, the suspect opened fire, after which police returned fire. A search operation was later conducted, during which the body of the suspect was recovered.

According to police officials, the killed suspect was wanted in a case involving the murder of five people. He was also accused of killing three members of the same family the previous day, which led to protests in the area and the closure of the Bannu-Miranshah road.

During the protests, Regional Police Officer Sajad Khan and DPO Yasir Afridi held negotiations with the protesters and requested two days’ time to resolve the issue.
