A suicide attack on a police station in Domel area of Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has left at least five people dead and several others injured.

According to initial reports, the deceased include three women, one civilian, and one child. Four people were injured, including two police personnel, who were immediately shifted to KGN Hospital for treatment.

Police said the attack was carried out using an explosives-laden rickshaw (Zaranj), which approached from the direction of the old tehsil building and rammed into the police station, triggering a powerful explosion.

The blast also caused severe damage to nearby residential areas, with at least two houses completely destroyed. Several people are feared trapped under the rubble, and reports indicate multiple additional injuries.

Following the incident, panic spread throughout the area, while local residents began rescue efforts on their own.

Police also carried out retaliatory firing at the scene, while rescue teams and a heavy contingent of law enforcement agencies reached the site and are actively engaged in relief operations.

Authorities stated that the police station building has been partially damaged, and further casualties are feared.
