Bannu Police, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and security forces killed four militants and arrested five suspects during a joint intelligence-based operation in the mountainous Telgai area of Wazir Sub-Division. Two police personnel sustained minor injuries during the operation and are reported to be out of danger.

The operation was led by District Police Officer (DPO) Bannu, Captain (R) Muhammad Furqan Bilal, with personnel from the CTD, District Police, Rapid Response Force (RRF), and security forces taking part.

According to police, the militants opened heavy fire on the advancing forces, prompting a retaliatory response. The exchange of fire lasted for nearly seven hours, resulting in the killing of four militants and the arrest of five suspected individuals.

Police said the bodies of two militants were recovered from the scene, while fleeing militants managed to take away the bodies of two of their accomplices. Security forces also recovered two Kalashnikov rifles, one rifle, and other weapons and ammunition from the slain militants.

During the exchange of fire, SHO Basia Khel Police Station Rashid Khan and Constable Wajid Khan sustained minor injuries and were shifted to a hospital. Police confirmed that both officers are in stable condition.

Authorities said a search and clearance operation is continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining threats. Police, the CTD, and security forces reiterated their commitment to continuing operations against terrorism and ensuring the protection of citizens' lives and property.
