Security forces have killed more than eleven militants, including four key commanders of a banned terrorist group, in three separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in North and South Waziristan, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday night.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were launched following confirmed intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the region.

In the first IBO, conducted in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, troops targeted a militant hideout where a fierce exchange of fire left six terrorists dead. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site. A second operation in Spinwam resulted in the killing of another militant.

In South Waziristan’s Ladha tehsil, an additional intelligence-based action eliminated multiple terrorists, including four key commanders of the banned Hafiz Gul Bahadur group. The group was reportedly involved in attacks on security forces, law enforcement agencies, and targeted killings of innocent civilians.

The ISPR said a clearance operation is underway to eliminate remaining militants—specifically those believed to be operating under foreign, Indian-backed support. It added that under Operation “Azm-e-Istihkam”, counterterrorism actions will continue with full force until the threat is fully neutralized.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident on Tuesday, Assistant Commissioner Miranshah Shah Wali, two police constables, and a local civilian were martyred when militants ambushed the AC’s vehicle near Masoomabad in Mamash Khel, Bannu district. DIG Sajjad Khan said the attackers opened fire suddenly and later set the government vehicle ablaze. A heavy contingent of police cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

According to Bilal Saqib, the AC’s secretary, Shah Wali was on his way to a court appearance when he was targeted. Two police personnel were also injured in the attack.
