At least 10 people, including six children, lost their lives while two others were injured in recent torrential rains and flash floods across multiple districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The fatalities include two men, two women, and six children. The PDMA report highlighted that incidents occurred in the districts of Bajaur, Buner, Upper Chitral, Shangla, Swat, and Upper Kohistan.
In Bajaur, one man and one child were swept away by floodwaters. Another casualty was reported in Buner, where a person died after being caught in a flash flood.

Swat suffered the highest number of casualties, with one woman and five children losing their lives due to the powerful flood currents. In Upper Kohistan, another woman was also killed by rising floodwaters.
Two people, a woman and a child, sustained injuries during these incidents. The heavy rainfall also destroyed two houses completely and partially damaged eight others.
Rescue teams and district administrations are actively engaged in relief efforts, while damage assessments continue in the affected areas.
PDMA has urged the public to take precautionary measures during the ongoing monsoon rains and to avoid going near water channels and streams.
